VENUE OVERVIEW: Located on buy Market Street in The Castro neighborhood, Brewcade offers exactly what the name implies: 21 classic arcade games and even more craft brews on tap. The exposed concrete ceiling complete with plumbing and HVAC ducts is industrial chic and heightens the sense of playing in arcades during their 1980’s heyday.
THIER NEEDS: While the games themselves might be Reagan-era relics, Brewcade’s AV system is anything but. The venue needed the capability to host corporate events, presentations, and both modern and vintage gaming events. The speakers needed to play into the urban industrial look meanwhile sounding great in such an acoustically troubling room.
WHAT WE DID: For Brewcade’s sound system, CAVS hung pendant speakers from the ceiling which blended nicely with the exposed piping and duct work. A 133’ projection screen was automated to lower just in front of the bar shelves only when necessary and was given the ability to connect to vintage video game consoles as well as modern laptops – imagine playing a game of Super Mario Bros. in which Mario is larger than you!
In addition to the customized AV system CAVS also designed and provided HD surveillance, automation, and data/telecom infrastructure. For added flexibility, CAVS let all systems be operated by smartphone, handheld remote control and a central in-wall controller. This gives Brewcade’s AV systems the power of modern video games with the easy play control of the classics.
